ALCHEMY: FURNITURE REFINISHING KIT

This 7-part line gives you all the tools necessary to refinish a piece of furniture. This project takes inspiration from alchemy and the Ouroboros; the Ouroboros originated in ancient Greek and Egyptian mythology and represents a dragon or snake eating its own tail, usually in a circle or infinity symbol. It is often seen as a symbol for death and rebirth, which ties in with the “rebirth” of a restored piece of furniture. It is a well-known symbol in many cultures, but is most notable in alchemy, which is an ancient branch of natural philosophy focusing on the supposed transformation of matter such as metals into gold. The symbol and idea of taking something and turning it into something more precious, perfectly captures the transformation of furniture restoration. The design elements will focus on the 7 steps of alchemy, which take you through a journey as you read about it on each package.
